I Am Pleased to Be Wrong About Richmond

Despite my recent post predicting that the gun rights rally on Monday in Richmond, VA would be a second Charlottesville, the event proceeded entirely without violence. One thing about pessimism is you can be happy when you’re were wrong.

Of course, that leaves the question of where I went wrong. A review discovered three factors I hadn’t taken into account.

1. The Cops Marched, Too

Charlottesville would have been much different had Dwayne Dixon pointed his rifle at a uniformed deputy than Mr. Fields.

2. Antifa Hasn’t Forgiven “Blackface” Northam

This came out of nowhere for me.

Even Virginia’s Antifa Groups Oppose Northam and Democrats’ Gun Control Push

Even Virginia’s Antifa Groups Oppose Northam and Democrats’ Gun Control Push

Virginia Democrats and Governor Ralph Northam may have opened an even bigger can of worms than they intended with their rhetoric about enforcing proposed new gun control laws they pass. Over 90% of the state’s counties have signaled their #resistance by declaring themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries, most of which vowing not to enforce any new limits on gun rights enacted when Democrats take control of the legislature in January.

Recently, these flyers have been popping up around the Old Dominion . . .

TROLL 15/10!!! They blew the fuse on this one! What a perfect way to sow dissent among the Left!

Apparently one was tacked up in an area where an Antifa group noticed it. They posted this on their Facebook page:

Winning!

One of their allies in the Tidewater area also shared, appealing to the authority of none other than Karl Marx in their view that the people shall not be disarmed.

With Antifa lining up against Governor Northam and Virginia’s anti-gun Democrats over gun control, the law-abiding members of the VCDL and the Second Amendment sanctuary movement are the least of their problems.

Richmond was safe because Richmond got epic-level trolled!

3. Intentionally Or Not, the Pro-Gun Face Was Not White Male

NARRATIVE FAIL: Minorities, LGBT Community, Women Show Up In Force At Pro-Gun Rally

https://www.dailywire.com/news/narrative-fail-minorities-lgbt-community-women-show-up-in-force-at-pro-gun-rally

Isn’t she adorable?

The media tried to claim that the event was going to be attended by angry white conservative men and that violence was likely to break out, neither of which materialized.

Members of the LGBT community, Democrats, and gay rights supporters attended the event, declaring that “Gun Rights Are Gay Rights.”

Other videos on social media showed black Americans expressing anger at the media for lying about the event and for hoping that bad things would have happened at the rally so they could push an agenda.

They were ready for Angry White Men but not Angry Black Men. Guess what, Governor Blackface, the real Negroes are marching off your plantation and IN YOUR FACE!

Even NBC News was forced to admit that the rally was peaceful and that law-abiding gun owners acted lawfully and peacefully in a piece titled: “At tense Virginia rally, demonstrators reject extremists, defend law-abiding gun owners.”

NBC News’ report comes after a leftist NBC News reporter [Ben Collins] falsely smeared gun owners ahead of the event by attempting to frame the narrative by claiming that the event was a “white nationalist rally.”

The reporter was later forced to delete his tweet after facing widespread backlash on Twitter.

Ohmigawd, the Left declared a war and nobody showed up!

Note to self: next time, check if Antifa actually wants to be violent… what did I just write?!?

God, it feels good to be wrong. Feels… funny!

  1. Maybe “Gun Control” is the issue that will cause the otherwise naïve to see that the Globalists are not their friends. Hey, if even Karl Friggin’ Marx declared against disarming the people, who exactly could possibly be for it?

  2. Problems with the rally: numerous rallies have happened before. No one remembers them. This one is headed by a group baiting a lawsuit (profiteering). Their plan is to now file a lawsuit that will last years, and argue before the tyrant they want to defy.

The Tea party also had no effect.

They won’t change the minds of pro gun control democrats. At best they will slow them down. It won’t change the coming tide, though. A few elected sheriffs won’t do anything, and can be replaced at any election. That or they can be arrested by state troopers.

All it will take is one woman paid to make a false statement to the press, and nothing will undo the original allegation.

Long term, democrats only need to bide their time. Little by little they will increase restrictions.

Gun owners chanted “we will not comply” at the rally. All while abiding laws on the following:

Suppressors; fully automatic weapons; AR pistol/battle rifle restrictions; restrictions on pistol stocks; restrictions on rounds being chambered during open carry; barrel lengths; transfer laws; unconstitutional prohibitions against those who did their time; where they could exercise free speech, etc.

If I was the governor of Virginia, I would realize several things: 2020 elections in a state that’s now solid blue for statewide races benefits me.

I now know who leads opposition groups and how they organize. I also know they won’t do shit as they are too concerned about optics (singing to the choir rather than accomplishing anything), and their general cowardice. Gun culture is the ultimate form of being a nice-guy. It’s fear driven behavior.

For all the talk about guns and war, most gun guys fail to implement what they are talking about. Successful dissident groups work when they are active, loud, and act nonstop. In other words, you fight until you gain the initiative, and then you maintain and push on. (For this reason I would argue that occupy Wall Street was more successful in influencing the democrat party than the tea party with republicans).

  3. Doubt it. NRA, ducks unlimited, and all the other national groups not only abandoned Californians, but actively worked against the interests of gun owners there. They thought their little groups wouldn’t be pursued by the state if they sold out other niche groups of gun owners.

And now California has all but banned duck hunting, and hunting in general.

In the 90s, it was common to see gun racks on trucks, and for kids to take of September 1 for dove season. Gun racks became brandishing and transporting unlocked firearms.

In the last decade alone, California did the following:

Prohibit dogs from hunting on land or even on public lakes.

Restrict ammunition types by zone, then statewide.

    Restrictions on magazine capacities.

Restrictions on pistols that can be sold in California. Pretty much the only thing you can buy now is a revolver, thanks to ca doj standards.

    Restrictions on transporting firearms.

    Restrictions on firearm accessories.

Restrictions on purchasing ammunition. (Quantity, background check, etc).

    Restrictions on owning ammunition.

  4. 20% of Americans Lost their homes in the market collapse of 08. If that, and everything else that’s happened since, hasn’t changed their minds, nothing will.

Americans are fickle and have no memory.

1 year ago those of us on the right were asking to get out of the Middle East. Today, the talking points are that Iran threatens our existence, and is going to literally invade our homeland and kill us all.

  5. “Gun owners chanted “we will not comply” at the rally. All while abiding laws on the following: Suppressors; fully automatic weapons; AR pistol/battle rifle restrictions; restrictions on pistol stocks; restrictions on rounds being chambered during open carry; barrel lengths; transfer laws;”

Actually, we don’t know who is abiding by all them there laws, if anybody. I’ve heard tell that compliance with gun laws is spotty. Keep in mind that nobody with a lick o’ sense is going to broadcast the precise level of their compliance beyond the generalized chant “we will not comply.”

That said, there’s not denying that we are in deep excrement, long term.

    This.
